Abertis Chairs International Network on Transport Infrastructure Management and Road Safety

• The Abertis Chairs are shifting towards a biennial award, with new academic activities and a boost to international coordination from 2026. 

• This year, priority will be given to new academic and research activities before the new model is implemented.

• The UPM-led International Network of Abertis Chairs builds partnerships between some of the most prestigious universities in the countries where the Abertis Group operates to improve sustainable mobility through data analysis and the development of applied projects.

Metropistas, the Abertis Foundation and the University of Puerto Rico award two prizes in the master's and doctorate categories to students from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico.

The event, conducted by the Abertis Foundation's president, Elena Salgado, was a key meeting point for leaders, experts and professionals committed to road safety and mobility, like the Director-General for Traffic, Pere Navarro, as well as some of the partners and institutions that have supported the Foundation's work over the years, such as UNICEF Spain and the Polytechnic University of Madrid through the Abertis Chairs programme.
