Abertis Chair Italy was created in 2021 in collaboration with the Università degli Studi di Padova, academic initiative developed in collaboration with the Department of Civil, Building and Environmental Engineering (ICEA) of the University of Padua.
The University of Padua, founded in 1222, is one of the oldest and most prestigious academic institutions in Europe.
The Department of Civil, Building and Environmental Engineering (ICEA) now stands as a center of excellence in research and education, with specializations in structural engineering, hydraulics, geotechnics, transportation, and sustainability.
The university actively promotes innovation in resilient infrastructure, urban mobility, and efficient resource management, participating in European projects and international collaborations. Its interdisciplinary approach is reflected in undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, as well as in the development of advanced tools such as Kratos Multiphysics.
By combining humanistic tradition with technological advancement, the University of Padua has become a leading institution in the study and application of civil and environmental engineering.
Abertis Chair - Università degli Studi de Padova is directed by Riccardo Rossi, PhD, professor in the Department of Civil, Building and Environmental Engineering at the University of Padua, specializing in the field of transportation (ICAR/05).
His career focuses on computational mechanics, fluid dynamics, and structural analysis. He has collaborated with institutions such as the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and CIMNE, and is a co-author of the Kratos Multiphysics software.
His scientific output includes over 40 indexed articles, book chapters, and monographs. He has supervised numerous master's and doctoral theses and has received international awards for his research contributions.
